Somehow, I forget every year
just how many colors changes one flower can go through.
This was in June, just showing the first hints of the color to come.
New, and full of promise.
This was July, in full competition with the skies above.
It won, hands down.
It's hard to believe such a blue is even possible.
And now here we are in August.
Such subtle shadings when you look closely.
Maybe a little tired from the season,
but rich with depth and texture.
